Autumn is simply different
I was born in autumn, in Lebanon. There,
autumn comes earlier than here in Qatar, but it doesn't last as long. Well, I like that and I like the fact that it’s
also called ‘fall’. It’s squarely fitting. Because like its leaves we fall… We fall in love, in place, in time, we also fall
apart.
Fascinating how there’s something
honest about seasons, how it is almost human - in a way. And whether we fall
for the best or the worst, we tend to grow clouds on the ground, trying to
soften it... but I'm afraid that never work and most of the times the full
impact hits us straight in the core and it hurts in a way beyond description. What
I’m trying to say is, love, heartbreaks, friendships, sickness, you name it! is
difficult in autumn. Or at least this was my theory before proven wrong on so
many occasions. So instead I'll say love is all about finding the right people,
and letting go of the wrong ones. It’s realizing that people might change as
quickly as autumn leaves and others might fall as quickly as such. And since
realizing that, I never saw autumn ever the same. Falling is all about braving the storm
together. It’s all about preparing for all new things. And Love in autumn isn't
difficult, it’s just different. It’s new.
It’s seeing the good in the bad, and finding the better in the dark. It’s all about the sun watching your back,
promising to return just a season after. Autumn is all about the surprise fact,
even though trees shed their green, but it always seems to make it every other
year. It’s beautiful and brave, just like how we should fall, just like how
love should be.
Mmmm
